I built this Pinbox as a part of a mechanical engineering elective called Pinball Wizard at Berwick Academy. In this course we had to design creative and unique ball movement throughout the playfield. I themed my Pinbox after one of my childhood favorite mobile games, Clash of Clans.
My main shots are
1) The Ramp - toward the top right I placed a ramp. If hit from an angle, the ball will simply roll over the top, but if you hit it directly and with enough force you can launch it and hit the Bowler.
2) Loop - halfway up the left side is a loop I design, inspired by a similar component in the Monopoly pinball machine. It is a tricky shot, most often hit after catching the ball on the right flipper.
3) Bumpers - I wasn't planning on the bumpers being a major component, but they turned out to really add variety to the ball movement
In addition to these main components, I added a curve to the back so that the ball whizzes along the side. Also, one of the first parts we worked on was a way to store balls once they were played. So I added a tube to the bottom of the catch area which leads to a small box.
