I built this Pinbox in a class at Berwick Academy called pinball wizard. The goal of this course was to design and create a unique machine that has intriguing ball movement. The theme for this machine is The Fast and the Furious Tokyo Drift. I chose this theme because its one of my favorite movies.
The main shots in my machine are:
1) White Curved Ramp- This shot allows the balls direction to be changed completely and be redirected into the wheels which act like a mini Plinko game. The top of the ramp is made out of clear acrylic so the player is able to follow the balls movement.
2) Center Grey Ramp- This shot is the trickiest shot on the board, but if you are able to make it, it goes along an outside ramp and gets directed into the Plinko wheels. The outside ramp was a way to extend the play field and allow for an interesting shot.
In the process of creating this Pinbox machine, I learned multiple different things such as 3D designing, 3D printing, and laser cutting. I 3D printed the wheels in the mini Plinko game, and I laser cut the grey ramp in the middle.
